Here are some photos I took Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at the annual appreciation cruise at Haugen’s Chicken & Ribs Barbecue, in Manchester, Ontario (Near Port Perry). The turnout was fantastic with over 1,300 cars entering the show. I got there real early and still ended up in the outskirts! (three spots down from last year). |

Here is a really rare car... a 62 Canadian Pontiac Parisienne four door hardtop with only 33,000 miles, still in original paint. It was owned by a man in Montreal who only drove it in the summer, and then not much at all. It has never seen a snowflake. |
This engine room has not been redone! It is just the way it came from the factory. There are so few of these cars around... they all rotted badly and quickly in Canada's salty winters. |
![]() |
![]() |
The interior is just about perfect, and still has the clear plastic seat covers that were installed when the car was new!(This car has since been sold through this web site.) |
This is a 56 Monarch. Even though it is the base model it has just about every option that was available. It came off the line at the end of the year and the factory likely threw on everything they had left over. The owner fabricated his own Continental Kit. |
![]() |
![]() |
It has the very rare top of the line radio! You seldom see them even in most top line models! |
A wild custom. Someone said it was once a Studebaker. |
![]() |
![]() |
I am not sure what it is... but it is very cool. A for sale sign appeared later in the day, but the car left early before I could get the number. |
![]() |

It had a "for sale" sign on it, but when I called the number the man who answered said he didn't know how much he was going to ask for it, and wanted to know what it was worth to me. |
I guess it is not for sale after all then... too bad. |

A 49 or 50 Studebaker. When I was 13 years old I nearly bought one of these for $100.00 with the intention of storing it until I could use and restore it. But I had no place to keep it. |
