23 Questions to ask when answering an ad about an antique car for sale.
1. How long have you had the vehicle?
2. Why are you selling it?
3. Are there any liens on the car? Does it come with a clear title?
4. Did the seller check it for liens when he bought it?
5. Does the serial number on the ownership match the one on the car?
6. Has it ever had major body damage?
7. Has it ever had major rust damage?
8. Has it ever been in a flood?
9. Has the frame ever been repaired?
10. Is the bottom and frame visible or covered up with undercoating?
11. Is the car driven regularly?
12. Does the car have the original engine and transmission?
13. Does the engine smoke? Overheat?
14. What kind of tires are on it and how old are they?
15. Ever been safety-checked, brakes, front end etc.?
16. Is the transmission noisy, does it jump out of gear?
17. Is the rear end quiet?
18. History on the car? Is it a southern or northern car?
19. Has it ever been restored? By whom? What was done?
20. What kind of paint is on the car (original, laquer, enamel, base/clear)?
21. Who owns the vehicle?
22. Who is selling the vehicle?
23. Whose name is the ownership in?
